Final Reflection

Image
1.      The best parts were creating this service that I created as it was fun to think about all the little details that need to be done. The lows were networking as I hate talking to people. But overall this class was a fun class although there was a lot to do every week.   2.      The most formative experience is the networking that I had to do. I was not good at it but slowly gained confidence and learned how to go about it. I will use this for the rest of my life as in sports management networking is key to ensure a good job. I believe that networking was what made me proud because as I said before I hate talking to people that I don’t really know.  3.      I do see myself as an entrepreneur in the future as if the sports management route doesn’t work then I will be trying to start my own business. I have definitely gained an entrepreneurial mindset.  4.      I say that don’t...

sports on demand Opportunity               There is a huge group of people that watch sports, in that there are many that want to watch a specific team but can’t as they are not subscribed to the network. There is also a group that wants to watch sports that may not be on tv due to country or popularity. The need is for these people that want to watch a sport, but they don’t have access to it for any sort of reason. The nature of the need is that the people want a service that they can watch all sports that they want doesn’t matter the team or region. The forces that cause this are that leagues only sells rights to certain channels and only certain regions get certain games. The market is the entire world as every sport is available and every person that watches sports is a possible customer. Currently they buy the expensive network pass to each league that they want to watch they could be swayed for a better option. The o...

Reading Reflection No. 3

The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users by Guy Kawasaki. 1.       The theme of the book is what social media is and how it works. He explains the different forms as well as how to navigate them and use them to your advantage. 2.       The book shows us how to find target markets like we did for the class. It shows us how to reach said markets successfully. 3.       For an exercise I would have a social media competition. The competition will show how to access markets in social media. The student has to use social media to try and target a market and see who can get the most interactions. This will show who is doing things right or wrong in targeting. 4.       The most surprising part was that he says that we need to make sure not to show off. This made me think about why as it makes people think differently of you.

Your Exit Strategy

The exit strategy I plan to use it to hold on to the company for my life and hand it down to family. I have never really felt like I would sell a business unless I really needed to for a reason unknown. I choose this strategy because I have grown up in a family centered environment so I would do everything for my family first then I worry about other things.  I believe that my strategy has influenced my decisions in the opportunity as I try and make sure that I will be able to spend time in my family and not all of it in the business. I chose to do things that don’t take away from that time. I try to make sure that I have a set time to be working and then after I don’t completely forget about it but it’s on the back burner.

Celebrating Failure

A time that I failed this semester was when I didn’t stick to my goal of going to the gym consistently. I had promised that I was going go but ended up going for maybe two weeks. I then injured my pinky and now I can’t go. So, I failed because I didn’t make it to gym consistently. I learned that I need to set a schedule, as if I say I will go when I’m free it won’t happen. I also learned that I need to take advantage of the ability I have to use my body as well as the time as one day I may not have these luxuries.               I think that failure is hard but if you do what you need to then you will not have to worry about failing. I handled this failure by setting a schedule for after my pinky heals that I can start going to the gym consistently. Emotionally I was fine as I just believed that I was tired. But behavior I would always say I will go tomorrow and never go but with a schedule I might be more likely ...

What’s Next?

Existing The nest step is to get the sports in good quality in multiple languages as well as get it to the tv somehow.   After talking to people and my own thought I think the best steps are to get it to people that don’t have access to sports to the poor as that can bring people together. I think that this will help bond countries and help us with the world. New I think that the next step would to get big companies and restaurant to use my service so that they can provide sports to their people. It will be good as they will cut cost of purchasing sports and can provide what the customer wants. I think this will be a good market and there will plenty of them that will join.
