Reading Reflection No. 3
The Art of Social Media: Power
Tips for Power Users
by Guy Kawasaki.
1.
The
theme of the book is what social media is and how it works. He explains the different
forms as well as how to navigate them and use them to your advantage.
2.
The
book shows us how to find target markets like we did for the class. It shows us
how to reach said markets successfully.
3.
For
an exercise I would have a social media competition. The competition will show how
to access markets in social media. The student has to use social media to try
and target a market and see who can get the most interactions. This will show
who is doing things right or wrong in targeting.
4.
The
most surprising part was that he says that we need to make sure not to show off.
This made me think about why as it makes people think differently of you.
Hi Ishan, I also read and reviewed The Art of Social Media. With how prominent social media is in every facet of reaching demographics now, it is quite important, in my opinion, to understand just how it works and what it is. I think your exercise idea is really good! Finding the right market and then further targeting them through social media is a super important concept to understand and a contest would really encourage students to put their business or service ideas out there to their target markets. Good post!
ReplyDeleteHey Ishan,
ReplyDeleteI reviewed The Art of Social Media for the last reading reflection and had found it quite interesting. The book gives you tactics on how to better improve your social media. I think social media is crucial in todays society when related to entrepreneurship. One of the quickest ways to raise your products awareness is through having a strong social media platform. I think your exercise is a good way to test everyone's social media strengths and serves as practice.
