DRINKING WATER PROJECT ON HOLD
The city of Clearwater is trying to build a plant to turn
wastewater into freshwater so that it can be pumped into the aquifers but the cost
to build spiked and they put a hold on the idea.
The problem is that they have higher than expected building
cost have stalled the construction of the plant.
The city has the problem directly as they have to foot half
the cost of the plant and any overages above the original $28.6 million but,
the entire Tampa Bay is indirectly affected as they are going to be having higher
water bill payment.
CUBICLE LIMBO WEIGHS ON FOSTER KIDS
The children in foster care are spending night in the office
space where it is not approved for them to stay. They get stuck there as the
case managers are trying to find a place for them to stay.
The problem is that they need to build a facility to house
these kids while they are finding a home for them.
The problem is for foster home children as they are the ones
that are having to sleep in offices.
SCHOOL SAFETY MISHMASH
The Brevard county sheriff office bought a simulator to
train guardian that can watch schools with firearms.
The problem is that it cost $124,995 which could be used for
other services as they already had the simulator.
The problem is affecting the people of the county as its
their money being used to pay for it and their kids that are in harms way of
the weapons.
RAYS TO REMODEL, CUT TROP SEATING
The Rays are going to remodel the stadium to make it a more intimate
environment for the fans. They plan to create a new social area on the top deck
so people can enjoy and watch the game at the same time.
The problem is that it cuts seats in the stadium that already
is the lowest capacity in the country.
The Rays fans are affected as they lose seats to purchase at
a cheap rate, but they gain a social area and new concessions.
MAKE REGION SAFER FOR WALKERS, CYCLISTS
The citizens walking and biking are in danger in Pinellas county
and the city needs to change the roads as well as the people that are driving need
to be more aware.
The problem is that distracted drivers are not aware and are
striking pedestrian and cyclist. The city needs to add more bike lanes and more
cross walks.
The people that walk or bike whether it’s to work for
exercise or for fun.
